Obituary

Lionel “Pete” Masse, 80, of Thomas St., Woonsocket, died Wednesday evening at Oakland Grove. He was the husband of the late Yvette (Derosiere) (Rousseau) Masse.
Born in Albion, he was a son of the late Henry and Delvina (Menard) Masse. He was a resident of Woonsocket for most of his life.
Mr. Masse served in the Army. He was employed by US Rubber Co., Brown and Sharp Co., United Supply Co., and worked as a driver for Valley Transportation before retiring in 1990.
Pete was a member of American Legion Post 85 and the VFW Post 11519. He was an avid reader and also was a volunteer for the St. Anne’s Arts and Cultural Center.
He is survived by five step-sons, a stepdaughter, a brother Roger Masse of TX, and a sister Gloria Duquette of Woonsocket. He was the brother of the late Andre and Normand Masse, and Theresa Pelissier. He is also survived by many step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be Tuesday at 10:00 am from the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave. Woonsocket. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Monday from 5-8 pm.
