Grady Carlton Brooks, 52, of Sylvester died Thursday, April 9, 2009, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Pine Forrest Baptist Church in Sumner. Rev. Al Wilburn and Rev. Ray Carroll will officiate with burial to follow in Pine Forrest Baptist Church in Sumner. Steven Mobley, Garth Brooks, Mark Wynn, Eddie Martin, Lance Wilkerson and Josh Brooks will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Pine Forrest Baptist Church in Sumner on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, from 12:00 noon until the hour of the service.
Mr. Brooks was born on August 19, 1956 in Worth County and was the son of William Grady Brooks of Sumner and the late Carolyn Hobby Brooks. He was an industrial engineer and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his father, Mr. Brooks is survived by his wife, Shirley Dalrymple Brooks of Sylvester, his step-mother, Myra Lee Brooks of Sumner; three daughters, Jennifer Leigh Brooks Henderson of Moultrie, Stephanie Lynn Brooks Henderson of Moultrie, Amanda Joiner of Smithville; and one step-daughter, Robbin Golden of Kissimmee, Florida; one brother, Christopher Wade Brooks of Sycamore; and one sister, Carla Elaine Chafin of Sycamore.
