Philip C. Huckabee, 57, of Fairhaven died Thursday April 9, 2009 unexpectedly at home.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Robert W. and Phyllis (Grime) Huckabee.
Mr. Huckabee was the former Chief Executive Officer of PC Retail Systems, Inc.
He was a graduate of Tabor Academy, Class of 1970 and Quinnipiac University, Class of 1974. While at Quinnipiac, he was a member and president of Alpha Epsilon Pi and played varsity baseball. He was currently the assistant softball coach at Oliver Ames High School in North Easton. He was very generous to his many friends. His annual summer beach party was a much anticipated event. He enjoyed traveling, boating, and his cats, Amston and Milo.
He is survived by his close friend, Gloria Bogins of Marion; and two brothers, Robert W. Huckabee, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Acushnet, and his twin, Peter D. Huckabee and his wife Brenda, of Marlborough, CT. He was loving "Uncle Phil" to Scott Huckabee of Mattapoisett, Matthew Huckabee of New Bedford, Jessica Huckabee of Acushnet, Sarah Huckabee and her husband Diego Gleyzer of South Windham, CT, Allison Huckabee of Woburn, and Erin Huckabee of South Boston.
His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at Grace Episcopal Church, New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
