...Medford resident for 3 decades; 70

MEDFORD - Bertha May (LaVigne) Doucette, age 70, died Friday morning, June 27, at Sunbridge Nursing Care Center in Lexington.

She was born in Plattsburg, NY, a daughter of the late Lyman and Bertha ( Dupre) LaVigne, and raised in upstate New York. She moved to Malden in her youth and graduated from Chevron High School in Malden. She moved to Medford 30 years ago.

She was a communicant of St. Francis Assisi Church, and later St. James Church, both in Medford.

She will be fondly remembered as having devoted her life to raising her daughter.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy (Doucette) and her husband George Pappas of Charlestown, a sister Betty RePucci of No. Reading, and a brother, Gerald LaVigne of No. ReadingShe was also sister of the late Grant, Floyd, Andrew, Lyman, and Ella LaVigne.

Her funeral is Tuesday, July 1, at 8:00 a.m. from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Ave., MEDFORD, phone (781) 395 0128. Funeral Mass Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. in St. James Church, 779 Fellsway, Medford.

Visiting hours Monday 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
