Obituary

Mr. Russell D. Gordon, a 60 year resident of Arlington and beloved husband of the late Grace E. (Little) Gordon, died at the Lifecare Center in Stoneham on Tuesday morning, April 7, 2009. He was 92 year old.
Born in Revere, Massachusetts, on May 31, 1916, he was the beloved son of the late William W. and Faustina E. (Davis) Gordon. Russell was a WWII Army Veteran. He entered the military on May 27, 1942, at Boston and received his honorable discharge from Camp Edwards on October 3, 1945. He served with Company H 422d Infantry Regiment. He was engaged in Northern France and Rhineland. While in the service, Russell earned the Good Conduct Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon and was awarded two bronze stars.
In civilian life, Mr. Gordon was a driver for Railway Express in Boston for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Freemasons and the Aleppo Shriners.
He was the devoted brother of Robert and his wife Mickey Gordon of Bethlehem, N.H. and Bruce Gordon of Lexington. Russell is also survived by 6 nieces and 10 nephews. His funeral was celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Friday at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Visiting hours were held Thursday from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. WWII Army Veteran.
