Helen Rice, a lifelong resident of Woburn passed away Thursday evening at the Woodbriar of Wilmington, following a short illness. The wife of the late Alfred J. Rice. She was eighty-seven years old.
Born in Uncasville, Ct. She was the daughter of the late Mary (Champayne) and Otis Quimby. She was a graduate of St. Charles High School Woburn, enjoyed candle pin bowling and was a avid Red Sox fan. She worked as a auditor for many years at Sears on Main St. Woburn and later at the Burlington store. She retired at the age of seventey-two, to spend more time with her family and friends.
Surviving are her two daughters, Ann Rice Shea and her husband John of Wilbraham, Dona Rice Kilbride and her husband James of Woburn. Also six loving grandchildren and the late Peter Shea, and eleven loving great grandchildren. She was the cherished aunt of Peter and Mara Tufts of Framingham and the late Judith Tufts. Also close friend of Katherine Taylor of Woburn.
Her funeral will be held form the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, on Monday, June 30, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St. Woburn at 10. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
