Obituary

Frances T. DeVita, 97, passed away at the Renaissance Nursing Center in Peabody on April 5th, 2009. She was born in Lynn on April 9, 1911 to her parents Felice and Elizabeth (Valerio) Ballerini. Frances was raised and educated in East Boston. She spent 65 years residing in Malden with her family before retiring to Brooksby Village in Peabody in 2002. She had many interests which included bowling. She was a founder and past president of a bowling league in Malden. Along with her love of bowling, her hobbies included sewing, knitting, painting and in her former years she was an avid card player. She also enjoyed spending time with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her son Raymond DeVita of Naples, FL and Harwich; by her daughter Joanne Dunn of Beverly; and by her son Philip DeVita of Simsbury, CT. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.Frances was predeceased by her husband Patrick P. DeVita. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Wednesday April 8th at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass on Wednesday only. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
