James S. Darling, 77, of Little Compton, RI passed away Monday, April 6, 2009 at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Natalie J. (Rego) Darling.
Born in Milford, MA, son of the late Leo J. and Eva (Symmes) Darling, he grew up in Franklin, MA and had lived in Little Compton for the last 30 years. A veteran of the Korean War, he served his country in the United States Army. Prior to retirement in 2005, he was the C.E.O. of the Fall River Greater Board of Realtors. Mr. Darling was an avid gardener and was one of the founders of the Pop-Warner League in Little Compton / Tiverton area.
Including his wife, survivors include a daughter: Cheryl L. Bowman of Worcester, MA; 2 sons: James C. Darling of FL and Mark P. Darling of Bellingham, MA; a step-son: Andrew S. Medeiros of Little Compton; a brother: David Darling of Mashpee, MA; 6 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
He was step-father of the late David S. Medeiros, Jr. and brother of the late Daniel Darling.
Graveside service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, April 13, 2009 at Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Little Compton at 11:00 A.M.
