Josephine Anna Reynolds, 84, of Chester, NH died April 5, 2009 at the Catholic Medical Center. Josephine was born in Manchester to the late Jakob and Juryna (Gula) Czarnik. She lived 38 years in Chester and was formerly of Derry, NH. Josephine worked at Grenier Field during WWII in the administration department. She later was employed by the Department of Housing and Urban Development; as Public Housing Manager, working 44 years out of Manchester, but would travel where she was needed. Mrs. Reynolds had been an active member of the Chester Sr. Citizens Group, the Hoodkroft Country Club for many years, playing the "Gold Tees". She loved blueberry picking, knitting, crocheting and was known for her work ethic and more importantly, her love of family.
Josephine is survived by her daughter, Kim Mirolo of Dublin Ireland, her son, J. Matthew Reynolds of Chester, NH, 5 grandchildren, Francesca, Josanna, Ayla, Vincent and Patrick. She also leaves her siblings, Joseph Czarnecki of Manchester, Frederick Czarnec of Orlando, FL, Walter Czarnec of Holliston, MA, Richard Czarnec of Chester, NH, Anne Kulaga of Andover, MA, Julia Carrington of Vacaville, CA, Jean Swindler of Spokane, WA, Stacia Schofield of WI, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by both husbands, John F. Murphy in 1956 and by Charles J. Reynolds Sr. in 1989. She was also predeceased by her brother Michael Czarnec and sisters Emelia and Stella Czarnec.
The family received friends at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry on Monday, April 13th from 5-8 pm. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday at 10am in Holy Trinity Cathedral, 66 Pearl St., Manchester. The committal service followed in St. Joseph Cemetery in Bedford.
