Josephine A. (Mariani) Schulz, 82, of Mansfield died Monday April 6, 2009 at the Southeast Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Easton. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter H. Schulz, Jr. who passed away on July 3, 1974.
Born in Walpole, MA on October 12, 1926 she was a daughter of the late Alphonse and Berradine (Grossi) Mariani.
Josephine grew up and was educated in Walpole and was a graduate of Walpole High School. In addition to being a dedicated homemaker to her adoring family she was quite proud of being a former Telephone Operator for the former Bell Telephone Co.
Her family was the fiber of her life and her happiest times spent were those in the presence of her loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. Josephine had a knack for cooking and enjoyed teaching her cooking skills to her family and also loved watching them grow up.
She had made her home in Mansfield for nearly 60 years and was a communicant of St. Mary’s church in Mansfield.
She is survived by her devoted daughters Patricia T. Santsaver and her companion Ronald Owen of Norton, Barbara A. Shaw and her husband William of Mansfield and Susan J. Maxwell and her husband Donald of Mansfield. She was the sister of Adeline Barrett, of Walpole, Catherine Clark of Walpole, Concetta Salamone of Needham, Lucy Fay of Walpole, Jean McCarthy of Florida, Joseph Mariani of Arizona, David Mariani of Walpole and the late Angelina Capone, Theresa Clark and Annie Manty. She is also survived by her cherished 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Prayer services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday April 9th at 10:30 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield. Burial will follow in the Spring Brook Cemetery, Mansfield.
