CHARLESTOWN, S.C. — Arthur F. Desjardins, 80, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at his home in Charlestown, S.C.
Born in Methuen on May 14, 1928 where he resided for 55 years before moving to South Carolina. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from the Gillette Corp. as a master boiler mechanic.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Elizabeth (Tiedemann); daughter, Patricia Fontaine and son, George Desjardins; sister, Theresa Boyd; step-daughters, Hazel E. Boyd and Jill T. Oliver; step-son, George E. Thomas Jr.; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Gertrude (Middlemiss), his father and mother, Wilfred and Josephine and his two brothers, Wilfred Jr. and Edward.
