Irene G. (Sabetti) Long, 72 of Southboro and formerly of Natick died April 5 at her daughter’s home in Upton following a long illness.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island, January 24, 1937, the daughter of the late Philip and Carmela (Scarduzio) Sabetti, Mrs. Long was raised in Providence and had lived in Kentucky, Georgia and Hawaii before moving to Natick in 1971 where she lived for many years before coming to Southboro.
Mrs. Long had been a Home Health Aide for TLC of Framingham for many years.
She had previously worked as a nurse’s aide in Georgia and Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick.
Mrs. Long loved the Ocean, trips to Provincetown and times spent with her family.
She is survived by her children, Deborah Fitzgerald and her husband, Brian of Upton, Michael Long and his wife, Beth of Reading and Denise Peters and her husband, Tom of Franklin.
She is also survived by her sisters, Anne Tillman of Falmouth and Angela Frater of Wisconsin.
She was the sister of the late Jim Sabetti and Louise Messier.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jenn Pasquarosa, Joe Peters, Clara and Evan Long and Molly Fitzgerald and her great-grandson, Vinnie Pasquarosa.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 8 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. in Franklin at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
