GLOUCESTER: Robert “Bobby” Huffman, 60, died April 3, 2009 in the Brigham Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Dana (Pratt) Huffman.
Born in Akron, Ohio on April 19, 1948, he was the son of the late Andrew and Delphia (Parsons) Huffman.
Bobby first came to Gloucester with his father in an eighteen-wheeler as a teenager and always knew he would one day make it his home.
He was employed by Gloucester Dispatch for many years as a long haul driver. He had also worked along the waterfront and was an avid Rex Sox and Nascar fan.
In addition to his wife of 17 years, he is survived by his beloved daughters, Leanora and Sierra Huffman, and sisters and brothers, Sherry, Ronald, David, Brian, Steven, Jennifer, Jeannie, and Rebecca. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Eleanor Pratt and her family as well as many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his stepmother, Sandy Huffman.
His memorial service will be held on Thursday evening in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester at 5 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
