BLACK, WILLIAM DONALD, JR.
William Donald Black, Jr., 70, of Ravenel, husband of Matilda Perry Black, died Friday, April 3, 2009 at his residence.
Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Monday, April 6, 2009 at 11 o’clock at Hopewell Baptist Church, Adams Run. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston. A visitation will be held this evening from 6 until 8 o’clock at the funeral home.
Mr. Black was born July 10, 1938, in Charleston, son of the late William Donald Black, Sr. and Marie Chance Black. He graduated from Chicora High School. He served in the South Carolina Army National Guard, retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard and was a Life Member of Jacksonboro Lodge #206, AFM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Hospice, 900 Johnnie Dodds Blvd., Ste. 200, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.

Survivors, including his wife Matilda, are two sons; William Donald Black, III of Ravenel and Christopher LaBarron Black of Ravenel, one daughter; Katrina Black Hughes (Clay) of Mt. Pleasant, six grandchildren; Crystal Nicole Black, Courtney Paige Neece, Brittany Nicole West, Aaron Donald Black, Anna Claire Hughes and Eliza Kinard Hughes, one great granddaughter; Haven Koester and one brother; James Harold Black (Meryl).
