Patricia M. “Patsy” (Hall) Lajoie, 74, of Marlboro formerly of Mansfield passed away unexpectedly on Thursday April 2, 2009 at the Charlotte Regional Medical Center in Punta Gorda, Florida. She was the wife of the late O. Conrad “Connie” Lajoie.
Born in Taunton, MA on August 30, 1934 she was a loving daughter of the late Harold Gorman and Alice M. (Sylvia) Lord.
She grew up and was educated in Foxboro. As a young woman Patsy had worked for several years at the Foxboro Co. before leaving to take care of her new family. Mrs. Lajoie was an owner, and along with her family had operated the former Mansfield Marine and Power Equipment Co. in Mansfield for over 25 years before retiring.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield, she was also a former member and past president of the Catholic Women’s Club. She enjoyed playing bingo and gambling, was an avid NASCAR fan and especially enjoyed attending her son Michael’s open wheel racing events.
Pasty was a faithful supporter of the Salvation Army, a frequent traveler and loved taking trips with her family, especially to the beaches in Florida, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. She had made her home in Marlboro for the past 6 years and had formerly resided in Mansfield for most of her life.
She is survived by her loving and devoted son Michael C. Lajoie and his wife Kelly of Marlboro. She was the dear sister of Janet A. Chesley and her companion Patrick Fitzgibbons of Mansfield and Richard F. Hall and his wife Alice of Azusa, California. She was the cherished grandmother of Shawn and Katelyn of Marlboro, the adoring aunt of Stacey M. Metrano of Mansfield and Glenn Hall of Azusa, California and is also survived by her aunt Marion Rezendes of Chester, Virginia and several cousins.
Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Wednesday April 8th at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday April 7th from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield.
