BILLERICA: Marie Ella (Boudreau) Strasser, age 81, a resident of Billerica for the past seven years, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Sunny Acres in Chelmsford.
She was the wife of Herbert B. Strasser, who died May 10, 1973.
Born in Boston on May 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Narciss and Mary (LeBlanc) Boudreau.
Marie was raised in Petit de Grat, Nova Scotia, Canada, where she attended local schools.
At the age of 16, she and her family moved to West Roxbury, MA.
Mrs. Strasser later resided in Medford until moving to Tewksbury, where she lived for over 40 years.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a quality control inspector by Analog Devices Company of Wilmington.
She enjoyed many activities including, bingo, music, and spending time with her family and friends.
Mrs. Strasser was a former communicant of St. Teresa’s Church of Billerica.
She was the mother of five daughters, Diane C. Carter and her husband Donald of Tewksbury, Rita M. Stone and her husband David of Raymond, NH, Janis L. Barry of Plaistow, NH, Mary E. Schatzkin and her husband Steven of Tyngsboro and the late Linda A. Delaney. She was the sister of Bernard Boudreau and his wife Lorraine of Vero Beach, FL, Robert Boudreau and his wife Sharon of Nova Scotia, Canada, Irene Landry and her husband Alfred of Vero Beach, FL, and the late Francis Boudreau. She was the sister-in-law of Pauline Boudreau of Waltham. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours Sunday, April 5th, from 2-6 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Monday, April 6th, at 9 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472 are suggested.
