Grovetown, GA---Mr. Amos Eugene “Buddy” Hurt, Jr., 74, entered into rest on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Heritage Healthcare of Augusta.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 3:00 pm, in the Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel, with The Reverend Mary-Kathleen Blanchard officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 3, 2009 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at the Funeral Home.
Mr. Hurt was a native and a lifelong resident of the Augusta area. He was retired from Augusta College. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and formerly attended Woodlawn United Methodist Church and was a member and former President of the Augusta Choral Society.
He was preceded in death by his father, Amos E. Hurt, Sr., mother, Margaret C. Spivey and a brother, Benjamin N. Hurt.
Survivors include his brother, Thomas “Tommy” Hurt, of Augusta, sister, Jacqueline “Jackie” Dunnavant, of Grovetown, GA, nieces, Jeanne Anderson and husband, Danny, of Martinez, GA and Larke Newton, of Grovetown, GA, nephew, Donnie Stewart, of Martinez, GA and several other nieces, nephews , great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
