Raynham — Louise Goff (Rounds) Hinckley, a resident of Raynham for over fifty years and a Taunton resident for many years, died Monday March 30th 2009 at the Taunton Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was 85 years of age. Born in Taunton. She was the wife of Clayton L. Hinckley, they had been married since 1949. Daughter of the late Leslie and Bessie (Goff) Rounds. Mrs. Hinckley was a homemaker most of her life. She was a very active member of the Winthrop Street Baptist Church in which she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years, Church Clerk for almost 20 years, she was also a Deaconess, she and her husband were also members of the Couples Club, which she was past president of. She was also a member of the Women’s Society. She was on the board of directors Steven’s Corner Cemetery Association. She enjoyed traveling to Colorado and New Mexico to visit with her son and grandsons. She was a Taunton High School graduate class of 1941. As a teenager she road her bicycle thru Taunton, Rehoboth and Berkley, also enjoyed bicycling with friends in Martha’s Vineyard. Her son George has been a caregiver for her and his father (Clayton) for the past five years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two son’s Peter C. Hinckley of New Mexico and George R. Hinckley of Raynham. She leaves one brother, George Rounds of Belmont, NH. She also leaves two grandchildren Eric Hinckley and Ethan Hinckley. One great grandchild Wesley Hinckley. She also leaves two nieces and one nephew.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 4th 2009 at 11:30am at the Winthrop Street Baptist Church. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday from 5-8pm at the Taunton Funeral Home 8 Crapo St (off Tremont St). Burial at the Stevens Corner Cemetery in Rehoboth. Donation in Louise’s name may be made to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association 135 Parkinson Avenue Staten Island, NY 10305 and the Winthrop Street Baptist Church 39 Winthrop St Taunton, MA 02780.
