Obituary

Marie J. (Corrado) Cannava, of Winchester, died Thursday at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. She was 88.

Mrs. Cannava was raised in South Medford, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Mary (Pullo) Corrado. She attended Catherine Gibbs School and worked with Family Services on Beacon Hill, until her marriage. A Winchester resident for 55 years, Marie was an active supporter at the former Marycliffe Academy. Marie was also an involved parishioner at St. Eulalia Church, a member of the Medford Women’s Club and was a long-time volunteer at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Most importantly she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.


She was the beloved wife of the late Santo “Sunny” J. Cannava. She was a devoted mother to Lucille Cannava, Jane LaVigne and her husband John all of Winchester. She was a loving grandmother to Janelle, Juliette and Jessica LaVigne. She was a dear sister of Juliette “Dolly” Cannava, Joanne LaCascia both of Medford, the late Henry, Vincent and Joseph Corrado.

Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday at 9AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10AM . Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 2-4 & 6-8. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
