Obituary

Raymond C “Ray” Hall, Jr. of Amherst, NH died Wednesday April 1, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua after a brief illness. He was 84 years old and husband of the late Betty (Godwin) Hall. Born in Brockton and raised in South Berwick, Maine he was the son of the late Raymond C. and Dorothy (Erwin) Hall. He was a 1941 graduate of Berwick Academy and attended the University of New Hampshire. During WWII he left college to enlist in the Army Air Corps and was later recalled to the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. For the past 41 years he had been a resident of Amherst.
Mr. Hall began a broadcasting career in Eastern Massachusetts and the accepted broadcasting positions in Albany and Rochester, NY. While living in New York he was public relations coordinator for Congressman Frank Horton, 36th District, New York. In 1968 Mr. Hall accepted a director of public relations position with Sanders Associates in Nashua and worked with them for over 20 years. Mr. Hall was an avid photographer and amateur radio aficionado.
He is survived by his son Charles A. “Chuck” Hall of Rowley, MA and was the brother of Elizabeth “Betsy” McMahon of West Bridgewater, MA; Ralph Hall of Methuen, MA and the late Mary Lee Rhodes. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Visitation in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday 9-10 am. A procession will leave the funeral home at 10 am for committal prayers at 10:30 am in Pine Hill Cemetery 483 N. Main Street, West Bridgewater, MA.
