OBITUARY
Fitchburg
Edgar B. St.Amand, 67, of Fitchburg, died Wednesday April 1, at home after
a long illness, with his family at his bedside.
Edgar leaves his daughter and her husband,Sherry A. and Kenneth Carlson
of Vernon, Vt.; his sister Evelyn C. St.Amand and her companion Robert H.
Griggs of Fitchburg. He also leaves his grandchildren Kyle and Melissa
Carlson, both of Vernon, Ct. Many nieces and nephews. His best friend
Francis Richards in Canada, and Michael Carlberg of Fitchburg.His sister
Donna Conway died in July of 2008. His step-mother Doris (Valiton) St.
Amand died in 1971. His father died in 1987.
Edgar was born in Leominster, October 5, 1941, the son of Edgar J. and
Elizabeth (Gilfoil) St.Amand and lived in Fitchburg most of his life. He was
employed for ten years as store manager for Sage's grocery store in
Cambridge. Before then, he worked for the former Giadone Furniture Co. in
Fitchburg. He served in the U.S. Army for two years from 1961 to 1963. He
enjoyed Pool, darts, golf and fishing trips with his friends. He was an avid
Red Sox fan and a very avid fan of the New York Giants. A visitation time
will be held on Wednesday April 7, from 4 to 7 P.M. in the Bosk Funeral
Home. Burial with military honors will be held on Thursday April 8, at 11:00
A.M. at the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery 106 Glenallen St. in
Winchendon. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made
