Gladys E. Holm, 81, of Londonderry, NH died Thursday April 2, 2009 in the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH. Mrs. Holm was born in Somerville, MA on March 18, 1928, daughter of the late Edward and Florence (Wark) Eaton. She had resided in Derry, NH until 1955 when she moved to Londonderry. She was employed for several years as a telephone operator for N.E. Tel and Tel in Derry. She later worked for Barlow’s Flower Shop in Derry. During the 1970’s Gladys was a very active member of the Londonderry United Methodist Church. She was a generous person and also enjoyed time spent with her neighbors. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing flowers and attending various floral shows.
She is survived by her two sons, Brandon C. Holm of Manchester, NH, and Blaine R. Holm and his wife Dana of Goffstown, NH. She also leaves nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in January 2009 by her husband of 53 years, Robert S. Holm.
Calling hours were held on Monday April 6th from 9 – 11:00am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A funeral service followed at 11:00am in the funeral home. Graveside services for she and her late husband were held on Monday afternoon at 1:30pm in the Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
