SFC Donald Wayne Redding, US Army (Ret.) 74, of North Charleston, husband of Theresa C. Redding died Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Colleton Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 4 o’clock at
James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville.
Burial will follow at Plantation Memorial Gardens, Hwy. 17-A, Moncks Corner with full military honors.
Friends may visit at the funeral home from 3 o’clock until the hour of service on Saturday.
Flowers will be accepted.
Mr. Redding was born January 25, 1935 in Newton, Iowa, son of the late Donald Bright Redding and Lolita Arlene Henderson Redding. He was a graduate of Newton High School, first graduating class, in Newton, Iowa. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, coin collecting, card playing, gardening, auto repair and electronics. He retired from the United States Postal Service as a distribution clerk and was of the Lutheran faith.
Surviving in addition to his wife are:
3 sons: David Wayne Redding of North Charleston, Bruce Alan Redding of St. Mary’s, Georgia and Terry Lee Redding of Moncks Corner.
Half brother: George Redding of Arizona
Sister: Mary Jolene Szczutkowski of Newton, Arizona
Grandchildren: Jeremiah Alan Redding, Joshua Aaron Redding and Nathaniel Andrew Redding all of St. Mary’s, Georgia, Christopher Lee Redding, Michael Alan Redding, Christopher Kirk Infinger and Danyelle Raeschelle Eller all of Moncks Corner.
