George L. Baker, 62, of Fitzgerald, died Wednesday, April 1 at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.

Mr. Baker was born December 3, 1946 in Atlanta to the late John L. and Elizabeth McIntosh Baker. He lived in Fitzgerald for the past several years from Atlanta, where he lived most of his life. Mr. Baker graduated in 1964 from Cross Keys High School in Atlanta, graduated from the University of Cincinnati and received his Law degree from Woodrow Wilson School of Law in Atlanta. He went into practice with his mother, practicing law for about ten years. Mr. Baker also worked as a warehouse manager with Rockwell International. He was a veteran of the Georgia National Guard.
He is survived by a nephew and his wife, James & Ann Farmer of Valdosta and a niece, Lisa Farmer of Greenville, TN.
