Obituary

WORCESTER – Arthur J. Plamondon Jr., 80, of 27 Lavallee Terrace died Tuesday, June 24 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 57 years, Rachel (Berquez) Plamondon; two sons Bruce A. and Ronald P. Plamondon both of Worcester; a brother Bernard Plamondon of Vero Beach, Florida; three sisters Loretta Wheat of Sutton, Lucille Beaudoin of Millbury, Theresa Gauthier of Hubbardston; 2 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A daughter Danielle B. Plamondon predeceases him. Mr. Plamondon was born in Webster son of Arthur J. and Bertha (Lamoureux) Plamondon.

Mr. Plamondon was a 6 year veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II.

He was a foreman for the City of Worcester Street Department at the DPW for 31 years retiring in 1988. He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church, the American Legion East Side Post #201, the Homer Wheaton V.F.W. Post and was Past Commander for the District 8 State V.F.W.

The funeral will be held on Friday, June 27 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.Royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond Street with a mass at 10 AM in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 53 Illinois Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, June 26 from 6 to 8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Holy Name of Jesus Church, 53 Illinois Street, Worcester, MA 01610.
