Obituary

MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA: Mary June (Ames) Sultzbach, 51, passed away Monday, March 30th surrounded by her loving family and friends after a courageous battle against cancer at the Kaplan Family Hospice House.
Born in Beverly on September 16, 1957 she was the daughter of the late Warren and Edith (Pelletier) Ames of Beverly and in later years, Kingston NH. Mary June had resided in New Hampshire for many years until her illness.
Mary was an avid New England sports fan and enjoyed traveling into the city to attend games, particularly the Boston Red Sox. Mary loved the outdoors and loved to go camping in the New Hampshire woods. A lover of all animals, Mary would spend hours in the woods with her Golden Retrievers, Jasmine and Hunter, and previous “Goldies” she had owned. Mary also loved to tinker around in the soil and was very proud of her herb garden.
Mary June is survived by her loving and devoted son, Justin and his wife, Tatiana Sultzbach of San Antonio, Texas, whom a mother could not have been more proud of. In addition to her son, Mary is also survived by her sisters, Wannetta and her husband, Scott Hussey of Peabody, Bridget Kelly, of Manchester-by-the Sea, Paula Cassidy of Beverly, Lucille, wife of Martin Heald of Derry NH, and one brother Warren Ames, Jr. and his wife, Holly of Kingston, NH. Mary also leaves behind her loving companion of many years Steven Medve of Wakefield, NH and her childhood and best friend, Diana Murray of Beverly. Mary is also survived by her former spouse, Keith Sultzbach of Middleton, and his family, with whom she maintained a caring relationship. Mary will be greatly missed by all her many, many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday morning in the Rosedale Cemetery, Manchester-by-the-Sea at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, “Ayer-Anderson Wing”, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
