Mrs. Iva Jean Hasty Powers, 61, of Irwin County, died Tuesday, March 31 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, April 2, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Rev. Glen Fussell Officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9, Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Powers was born May 9, 1947 in Fitzgerald to the late Rev. Coy V. and Irene Petty Hasty. She lived in the community all of her life. Mrs. Powers was a former employee of Modern Fibers, Kaminsky & Sons, Champions and Fitzgerald Underwear. She was a member of Midway Church Of God.
Mrs. Powers is survived by her husband, Will Powers of Irwin County; son & daughter-in-law, Mike & Sandi Thompson of Fitzgerald; daughter, Elizabeth Roberts of Irwin County; stepchildren, James & Tommie Powers of Brunswick, Marie & Johnny Bowen and Teresa & Donald Carmichael all of Ocilla; 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; brothers & a sister-in-law, J.L. & Imogene Hasty and Jerry Hasty all of Fitzgerald as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jenurl Wooley.
