Richmond, VA – Edna Strauten Porter – of Ridgefield Parkway, Richmond, VA died Tuesday, March 24th after a long and full life.
She was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on October 5th, 1916. She was a graduate of the Edward F. Searles High School in Methuen, MA and the Burnette Business College.
After starting her career in business, where she spent several years working and living in Boston, MA, she married in the fall of 1942 to James Porter of Methuen, MA.
She has been an inspiration to her family and her fierce independence has been a model for us all. Her attitude of kindness combined with a great sense of humor has endeared her to family and friends.
Edna is survived by her daughter, Nancy, of Richmond, VA, her son Robert of Rochester, NH, her grand-daughter, Jessica of Phoenix, AZ, and her grand-son, James of Richmond, VA.
A Graveside Committal Service will take place on Friday morning at 10 o’clock in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen, Ma.
