Stephanie Simonsen, 70, of Derry, NH, died Friday, March 20, 2009 in the Southeast Volusia Care Center in Edgewater, FL. Mrs. Simonsen was born in Haverhill, MA on November 8, 1938, the daughter of the late Stephen and Agnes (Fagan) Ford . She was a resident of Derry since 1971, having wintered in New Smyrna, FL for many years. Mrs. Simonsen and her husband ran Hidden Valley RV & Golf Park in Derry for many years. She was a member of the Island Pond Baptist Church in Derry and the Edgewater Baptist Church in Edgewater, FL. Mrs. Simonsen was an avid golfer and loved to travel. Her husband Ed was her business partner, soul mate, and her best friend with whom she was inseparable.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin Simonsen of Derry; one daughter, Pattie Chapman of Merrimack, NH; one son, Richard Robarge of Derry; three step daughters, Cathy Kierstead, Laurie Simonsen, and Sandy Simonsen, all of Florida; one step son, Andrew Simonsen, of Maine; nine grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Calling hours were held on Friday, April 3rd from 5 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Saturday at 10:00am in the Island Pond Baptist Church, 26 North Salem Rd., Derry. The burial followed in the Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a Hospice of your choice, the Shriners Burn Center, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114, or to the Special Olympics New Hamsphire, 650 Elm St., Manchester, NH 03101.
