Obituary

Louise J. Gorski, 90, passed away at the Sancta Maria Nursing Home in Cambridge on March 29th, 2009. She was born in Boston on October 2nd, 1918 to her parents Joseph and Mary (Cianciacula) Savina. Louise was raised in Somerville and is a graduate of Somerville High School. After graduation she began working as a Bookkeeper for the Parker House Hotel in Boston. She remained at the Parker House for over 45 years acting as a Manager, Bookkeeper and Concierge. Louise spent most of her life living in Quincy. She was an active volunteer at the Quincy Senior Housing Center and the Quincy Public Library. For the past five years, Louise lived at Longmeadow Place in Burlington where she developed many friendships and was active at social gatherings. Louise is survived by her sister Rita Krant of Somerville and by several nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her husband John J. Gorski and by her siblings Anthony, Angelis, John and Joseph Savina and Catherine Lerro. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Thursday April 2nd at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery in Quincy. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday April 1st from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
