Dorothy Boudreau, 88

Dateline: Norton, MA

Dorothy (Sylvia) Boudreau, 88, of Norton passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of her home on Friday March 27, 2009. She was the beloved wife of the late Russell G. Boudreau, Sr. who died on December 21, 2007.
Born in North Dighton, MA on February 17, 1921 she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie (Correia) Sylvia.
Dorothy grew up and was educated in Taunton. Prior to retiring she had worked as an assembler for several years at Triad in Norton and had formerly been employed for the former Shields Co. in Attleboro and at the former Talbot’s Woolen Mill in Norton, it was while working at Talbot’s that she met her late husband Russell.
A member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Norton, Dorothy was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the VFW Post 8049 in Norton. She loved fresh water fishing, bowling, of which she was a former member of several area bowling leagues, playing cards with family and neighbors and the simple pleasure of watching television at home in her favorite chair. She was also a big Red Sox fan.
Her family was the fibers in her life and she will be sadly missed by them. She treasured the wonderful times spent with her family and especially attending her granddaughter’s baton competitions. A resident of Norton for over 55 years had formerly resided in Taunton
She is survived by her loving and devoted children Alice M. Boudreau and Russell G. “Butch” Boudreau, Jr. and his wife Ann all of Norton. She was the cherished grandmother of Joseph Poirier and Stephen Poirier both of Mansfield and Rachel Boudreau, Melody Boudreau and Russell George Boudreau, III all of Norton. The sister of Francis Sylvia of Taunton and the late Joseph Sylvia, William Sylvia and Raymond Sylvia, additional survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held on Sunday March 29th at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will be held at a later date in the Norton Common Cemetery in Norton.
