Marblehead: William L. Buckley age 77 of Marblehead, died suddenly, Tuesday night, March 24, 2009 at the NSMC / Salem Hospital. He was the husband of Helen (Kane) Buckley.
Born and raised in Malden, he was the son of the late John J. and Sarah V. (Conway) Buckley, and was a graduate of Malden High and Bentley College. During the Korean Conflict Bill served in Korea with the US Army. Employed by the Atwood & Morrill Co. of Salem for 45 years, he retired in 2003 as Director of Corporate Procurement.
A resident of Reading form many years, Bill and Helen moved to Marblehead 5 years ago.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters, Lisa Buckley and her husband Mark Dopheide of Portland, OR, and Paige B. Allen and her husband Charles A. Allen of Hampton Falls, NH, a son, William L. Buckley, II of Salem, a step-daughter, Deborah Morbeto and her husband Michael of Leesburg, VA, 3 sisters, Grace Joyce & Pauline Valway both of Needham, Faith Grady and her husband Henry of Natick. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Ashton & Coltin Allen and Michael Morbeto as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Monday, March 30, 2009 at 11 am in the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem. Visiting hours: Sunday 2 to 6 pm.
