Manchester-Amar Douidi, 61, died March 25, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family after a brief illness.
He was born May 23, 1947 in Mombach, Germany the son of Mohammed S. Douidi and Margaret (Decker) Douidi. He was educated in the United States, served in the US Army during the Vietnam War with the 54th Military Police. He was a police officer and retired from the Manchester Police Department. He was a member of the Manchester Police Association, Manchester Police Relief Association, NH Veterans Association, Blue Knights Motorcycle Law Enforcement Association, Justice of the Peace and Notary.
He loved riding his Harley Davidson, enjoyed a family tradition with grandchildren at the beach in Old Orchard Beach Maine, traveling to Germany and Morocco to see family, and enjoyed having coffee with his friends at Granite Square.
IN HIS LIFE: Members of his family include his wife of 43 years Therese B. (St. Jean) Douidi of Manchester, his father, three sons, Daniel A. Douidi and his wife Cindy of Bedford, Allen R. Douidi and his wife Genia of Manchester, and Eric A. Douidi and his wife Valerie of Manchester, one daughter Lisa (Douidi) Plamondon and her husband Kevin of Manchester, 6 grandchildren Joshua, Kayla, Alex, Nick, Jacob, and Amar, 2 sisters Mealika Backonstoss of Germany, Cathy Poulette of Manchester; 6 stepbrothers and 4 stepsisters of Morocco and Algeria, his mother in law Florence St. Jean of Manchester.
SERVICES:Calling hours will be Saturday from 11 AM to 2 PM at the J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.. A prayer service will be held at 2 PM in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Manchester Police Relief Association, 300 Chestnut St., Manchester, NH 03101 or to the VNA Hospice, 33 S. Commercial St., Suite 401, Manchester, NH 03101.
