Mr. Raymond C. Courcy, of Taunton, died Wednesday, March 25 in the New
England Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital, Stoughton, following a brief illness. He was
the loving husband of Margaret (Fagan) Courcy. He was born 83 years ago in
Dighton, the son of the late Albert and Adeline (Dumoulin) Courcy. He was edu-
cated in Taunton, having graduated from the former St. Jacques Grammar School
and the former Msgr. James Coyle High School, and also attended school in Ste.
Anne de la Pocatiere, P.Q., Canada for a year. Prior to his retirement, he had been
employed as a store manager for the former Fernandes Supermarkets in Brockton
and Raynham for 30 years. Mr. Courcy was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, served as a Eucharistic Minis-
ter at the former Immaculate Conception Church, was a member of the Holy Name Society, and was Past Treasurer of the Friends of the Taunton Public Library. He enjoyed stamp collecting, working in his yard, and spending time with his beloved family. He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church.

2 daughters: Patricia McCabe and her husband, George of Taunton
Maryellen Cleary and her husband, Jay of Taunton
16 grandchildren: Nathan, Kyle and Laura Courcy, Denis, Meghan, Becky and
Molly McCabe, Erin, Emily and Sean Sullivan, Patrick, Jackie
and Peter Cleary, Meagan and Shawn Pereira, and Paul Courcy, Jr.
2 great granddaughters: Bryanna Sullivan and Kierra Wapenski
several nieces and nephews
Mr. Courcy was also the father of the late Susan M. Sullivan of Taunton, and the
brother of the late Lucille Bury of Connecticut and the late Anita Ryan of Taunton.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street,
on Monday, March 30 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude
the Apostle Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives
and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, from 4:00 to
7:00 P.M.
