Obituary

WORCESTER-Arthur “Sonny” J. Collins, 73, of 40 Belmont Street died Thursday, June 19th in Saint Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after a short illness. His wife, Noreen E. (McKinnon) Collins died in 1978. He leaves 3 sons, James A. Collins, Francis “Sonny” G. Collins and Craig C. Collins all of Worcester; 2 daughters, Deborah E. White of Dudley and Patricia J. Benoit of Worcester; a brother, Frank D. Brick of Las Vegas, NV; 4 sisters, Joan A. Brick of Worcester, Margaret M. O’Leary of Leicester, Barbara F. Bogosian of E. Falmouth, Phyllis A. Dumas of Worcester; a great aunt, Margaret C. Rawlston of Lakeland, FL; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. A brother, George C. Brick died in 1984 and a sister, Mary “Betty” E. Collins died on June 19th, 2003.

He was born in Worcester the son of Abbie (Shea) Brick and had lived here all of his life. He attended Worcester Boys Trade. He was an Army veteran of WWII. Mr. Collins worked for the City of Worcester for many years. Previously he worked for the George F. Blake Company.

The funeral will be Tuesday, June 24th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a mass at 12:00 PM in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser Avenue. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, June 23rd from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
