DANVERS: Robert H. Griffin, 46, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 in the Beverly Hospital. He was the husband of Pamela (Ottley) Griffin.
Born in Frankfurt, Germany on July 17, 1962, he was the son of Lola (Richman) Griffin of Denver, Colorado and the late Robert H. Griffin. He had resided in Colorado for many years before moving to Rockport in 1985 and finally settling in Danvers in 1995.
Bob was employed at the Stop & Shop in Danvers for the past year. He had also once worked as a security guard for many years. He enjoyed fishing and camping and he especially loved to spend time with his wife and daughters.
In addition to his wife of twelve years and his mother, he is survived by his beloved daughters, Helen E. Griffin, a 6th grader at Holten- Richmond Middle School and Cristina M. Griffin, a 5th grader at Great Oak School, two sisters, Shawna and her husband, Mark Chandler and Tammy and her husband, Mike Bourg all of Colorado, a brother, Doug and his wife, Julia Griffin of CO, his mother-in-law, Patricia Ottley of Danvers, two sisters-in-law, Debbie Ottley of Haverhill and Florence Griffin of New Mexico and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by his brother, Kevin Griffin and his father-in-law, Frank Ottley.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday evening in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly from 5 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Funeral services will be privately held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the family.
