Obituary

WEBSTER- Stephen J. Dumais, 54, of Thompson Road, died Tuesday, March 24, in Umass/Memorial Healthcare,Worcester, after being stricken ill at home on Saturday.

He leaves his mother, Rose A. (Miskiewicz) Dumais of Dudley; his fiancee, Diane A. (Yurkevicius) Wright; a special friend, Brett C. Reddick of Putnam, CT, who was like a son to him; 2 uncles, many cousins, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert J. Dumais, who died in 1990.

He was born in Southbridge and lived there until moving to Springfield in 1960. He returned to the Webster-Dudley area in 1975. He graduated from William Putnam High School in Springfield and attended Springfield State College.

Mr. Dumais was currently a mechanic for Midas of Marlboro, where he worked for many years. He was also a relief manager for Midas. He worked for Gentex Corporation in Dudley for 8 years, until 2004.

His passion was his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was an ardent Boston Red Sox fan.

According to his wishes, no services are planned. There are no calling hours. Donations in his name may be made to either the Idaho Elks Rehabilitation Hospital, 600 North Robbins Road, Boise, Idaho 83702, or to the Alzheimer’s Support Network, PO Box 839, Southbridge, MA 01550-0839. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
