WORCESTER-Mary “Betty” E. Collins, 72, of 132 Whipple Street died Thursday, June 19th at home after a short illness. She leaves a brother, Frank D. Brick of Las Vegas, NV; 4 sisters, Joan A. Brick with whom she lived, Margaret M. O’Leary of Leicester, Barbara F. Bogosian of E. Falmouth, Phyllis A. Dumas of Worcester; an aunt, Margaret C. Rawlston of Lakeland, FL; many nephews and nieces. A brother, George C. Brick died in 1984 and a brother, Arthur J. Collins died June 19th, 2003.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of George and Abbie (Shea) Brick and has lived here all of her life. She graduated from South High School. Ms. Collins worked as a certified mental health assistant for Worcester State Hospital for 32 years until retiring. She was a member of St. Catherine of Sweden Church.
The funeral will be Tuesday, June 24th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 12:00 Noon in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser Avenue. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, June 23rd from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
