Eva M. Montigny, 96, formerly of Main St., Albion, died Tuesday at St. Antoine Residence. She was the wife of the late Antonio M. Montigny.
Born in St. Louis, P.Q. Canada, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Roseanna (Forcier) Mathieu. She was raised and married in Canada prior to coming to the United States. She was a resident of Albion for many years.
Mrs. Montigny was a homemaker and a longtime communicant of St. Ambrose Church. She was a member of Les Dames de St. Anne.
Mrs. Montigny was a Gold Star Mother, her son Rene Montigny died during the Korean War.
Eva was a devoted wife and mother, and cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by two sons, Roland Montigny, and his wife Blanche, of Albion, and Normand Montigny, of Fort Worth, Texas, three daughters, Fernande Bolduc, of Northbridge, MA, Madeleine Tremblay, of Cumberland, and Pauline Parker, of Las Vegas, NV. She was the sister of Rosa Lavallee, of St. Victoire P.Q. Canada. She was the mother of the late Therese E. Montigny-Lafleur, and sister of the late Emile Forcier and Marie Boudreau. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be Saturday at 8:30 am from the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Ambrose Church, School St., Albion.
