Lillian C. (Pimental) Gonsalves, 79, of Mashpee, formerly of New Bedford, died Tuesday March 24, 2009 after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Joaquin "Jackie" Gonsalves.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the Frank N. and Cacilda (Anacleto) Pimental, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life before moving to Mashpee.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Mrs. Gonsalves was a retail manager for Hit or Miss and Bradlees until her retirement.
Survivors include a daughter, Gail S. Lopes and her husband Raymond of Mashpee; three grandchildren, Lisa B. Lopes-Berry of Mashpee, Nicole D. Roderigues of Yarmouthport, and Daniel J. Roderigues of Quincy; twin great-granddaughters, Alexandra and Morgan Berry of Mashpee; her best friend for over seventy years, Lillian B. Araujo of New Bedford; and many cousins.
She was the mother of the late Daniel L. Roderigues of Falmouth.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery.
