Alice C. Haden, RN, of Valley View drive died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, March 23, 2009. She was the wife of *Clyde J. Haden. They celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in August.
Born in Easton, PA, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Myrtie (Buss) Kolb. She moved to Drummondville, Quebec at an early age and attended high school in Canada. Upon graduating, she enrolled in McGill University where she studied to become a dietician. She then switched career paths and enrolled in Bellevue School of Nursing in New York where she earned her nursing degree and became a Registered Nurse. She began her professional career at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Framingham, MA where she met her husband Clyde. She retired from the VA in 1985. Alice was a resident of South West Harbor, Mechanic Falls and Bath Maine until moving to Greenville RI in 1968.
Alice had a great love of life and was always an excellent provider for her family. She loved to do needlepoint and crochet. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved spending special times with her grandchildren, family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking especially preparing the traditional Thanksgiving holiday dinner for family and special friends.
Alice will be fondly remembered by husband Clyde J. Haden, her two sons, Scott A. Haden, husband of LuAnn of Lititz, PA and Steven W. Haden, husband of Debra of Coventry and two grandchildren, Andrew, a senior at Penn State University and Daniel, a freshman at Penn State university. She was the sister of Robert W. Kolb who preceded her in death in 1980.
