Maura E. McNerney, 54 years old, a resident of Hartford, CT. for the past thirty years, formerly of Lowell, died unexpectedly Sunday at her home in Hartford.
Born in Lowell on August 3, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Edward J. and Mary E. (Gill) McNerney. Maura attended the Immaculate Conception Grammar School and was a graduate of Keith Hall. She received her Associate’s Degree from Castle Junior College in Windham, N.H. and her Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Rivier College in Nashua, N.H.
Maura was an avid sports fan as she followed all of the Boston Professional Sports Teams, and since her move to Connecticut she was a fan of both the Men’s and Woman’s University of Connecticut Basketball Teams. When living in Lowell, she was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church.
She is survived by three sisters and brothers in law, Susan and her husband Jeffrey Allard of Reseda, CA, Ann and her husband Peter Turner of Chelmsford, and Christine and her husband Thomas Lynch of Merrimack, N.H.; her nieces and nephews, Stephen and his wife Andrea Allard, Elisa Allard, Melissa and her husband Dan Kozusko, Deborah Turner, Alexander Turner, Adam and Eric Lynch; her dear friend, Will Smith of Hartford, CT. and many friends in the Hartford, CT. area.
McNERNEY- Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, March 26 from 4 until 8 pm at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 NESMITH ST. (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 27 at 11 am at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 855 Asylum Ave. Hartford, CT. 06105 or the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Ave, PO Box 1004, Meriden, CT. 06450.
