John R. Begley, 90, a resident of Andover, MA. died at the Nevins Nursing Home in Methuen, MA. on Monday, March 23rd, 2009.
He was born on October 7th, 1918 in Lawrence, MA. to Thaddeus & Kathryn (Manning) Begley. He was educated in St. Rita's Grammar School and graduated from Lawrence High School. He was a graduate of Villanova College class of 1941. In 1943 he joined the United States Army and served during WWII attaining the rank of Captain. Mr. Begley received the European & the American Theatre Campaign Ribbons as well as the Victory Ribbon. He went on to receive a law degree from Boston University. Mr. Begley worked as an Attorney and Trust Officer for Bank of Boston in Boston, MA for over 30 years until his retirement. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Lawrence, Massachusetts
He is survived by his nieces and nephew: Kevin Begley of Katy, Texas, Janice Begley of Odessa, Texas and Kathryn Begley of Hollis, N.H. also one grand niece and 4 grand nephews.
Friends are invited to attend a grave side service on Friday, March 27, 2009, at 11:00AM in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
