
FALL RIVER … Joseph A. Desrosiers, 83, of Fall River died, Sunday, March 22, 2009 after a long illness.
He was the companion of the late Theresa (Dutley) Fay for more than 50 years.
He died at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River.
He was a communicant of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, 529 Eastern Ave., Fall River.
He was born in Fall River a son of the late Philippe and Georgianna (Pauze) Desrosiers and had been a life long resident of the city.
He was an auto mechanic with Everett Motors, Poirier Lincoln Mercury, Empire Chevrolet, Taunton Volkswagon, Fall River Volkswagon, and retired from Public Works Department.
Mr. Desrosiers was a W.W. II Army Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion of Fall River. He enjoyed traveling, fixing cars, and NASCAR.
Survivors include a daughter Janice Dionne of Somerset, 2 granddaughters: Melissa Lucas and Heather Taborda, 4 great grandchildren: Brandon Lucas, Lexie Taborda, Cody Taborda, and Zachary Lucas, several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Philip Desrosiers, Romeo Desrosiers, Albert Desrosiers, Juliette Sheehan, and Loretta LaPage.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday at 9AM from the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River (508-672-0291) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, 529 Eastern Ave., Fall River, MA. Calling hours Wednesday 6 – 8 PM. Entombment in Our Lady of the Lourdes Chapel at Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
