MC KINNEY, TX - Richard D. Motta, Sr., 66, of McKinney, TX, died on March 14, 2009 following a long illness.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Walter and Beatrice (Enos) Motta.
Educated in Taunton schools, he later worked for the former Rosemar Silver Co. of Taunton, and was subsequently employed by the Shell Oil & Gas Co.
A truck driver with Shell for over 34 years, he retired in 1999.
A past member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Taunton, he moved to Texas a few weeks ago.
He enjoyed riding his Harley and fishing with his grandchildren.
He leaves 2 sons, Richard D. Motta, Jr. of Dallas, TX, Keith Motta and his wife Tracy of Taunton; a daughter, Ashleigh Motta of Taunton; a sister, Dolores Williams and her husband Everett of McKinney, TX; 2 grandchildren, Brandon and Cassie Motta of Taunton, and 4 nephews.
Calling Hours will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday, March 27, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m., during which memorial services will take place 7:45 p.m.
