Mrs. Gabrielle (Levasseur) Dufresne, 96, passed away Saturday March 21 at D’Youville Senior Care Center, Lowell. She was the wife of the late Arthur Dufresne.
She was born September 16, 1912 in Lowell, a daughter of the late Achille and Roseanna (Barry) Levasseur.
Mrs. Dufresne was a lifelong resident of Lowell, who was a homemaker. She enjoyed bingo, crocheting, and visits with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter Therese Christian and her husband Ray of Lowell; two sons, Robert Dufresne and his companion Phyllis Shelley of Chelmsford, Roger Dufresne and his wife Gerri of Chelmsford; two brothers, Louis Levasseur and his wife Marie of Lowell, Gerard Levasseur and his wife June of Westford; ten grandchildren, Raymond, Michael and Richard Christian, Laurie and Renee Proulx, Tracy and Jason Carney, Kerri and Dan Wilson, and Lauren Dufresne, also seven great grandchildren.
Mrs. Dufresne was the sister of the late Mildred Luther, Emile, Albert, Raymond, and Leo Levasseur and her grandson, Sean Dufresne.
Friends will be received at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St. Lowell on Tuesday from 4 to 8pm. Her funeral will take place on Wednesday at 9am from the Funeral Home to be followed by a Funeral Mass at St Rita’s Parish in Lowell at 10am. Interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
