Mary J. (Brady) Longo, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died on Saturday March 21, 2009 at East Pointe Nursing Home in Chelsea following an extended illness. She was 90 years old.
Mary was born in Somerville on October 23, 1918. She grew up in Charlestown, she attended Little Flower Parochial School in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School. She worked for 4 years as a comptroller for the Federal Reserve Bank. For over 21 years she worked as a waitress in the executive dining room for Prudential Life Insurance Company. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella # 1.
Mary is the beloved wife of the late Raymond E.A. Longo. She is the devoted mother of Raymond E.A. Longo Jr. and his wife Norma of North Carolina, Robert E. Longo and his wife Pamela of South Carolina, Kenneth A. Longo and his wife Tricia of Lexington, Gary W. Longo of Milton and Nancy M. Longo of East Boston. She is the loving Nana to Gina, Karen, Bobby Jr., Debbie, Jason, Krista, Kenny Jr., Bryan, Gary Jr., Amy and her 2 great-grandchildren; Corey and Benjamin. She is the beloved sister of the late Francis, George, William, Julia, Kathleen, James, Frederick, Joseph, Elaine, John, Paul, Joanna, Thomas, Richard and Charlotte. She is the loving aunt of Joan Feener, Maureen Cella, Honoria Carroll and many other nieces and nephews. She is the dear great-aunt of Laurie Canning and her husband Jim.
