Brendan T. Donovan 72 years old of Milton died unexpectedly Friday March 20, 2009 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Elizabeth “Betsy” (FitzGerald) Donovan and devoted father of Brenda Morse and her husband Bruce of N. Attleboro; Patty Farragher and her husband Peter of Bridgewater; Susan Derochea and her husband Gerald of Middleboro and Kate Donovan of Milton. He was the loving grandfather of Gerry, Patrick and Chelsea Derochea, Bruce and Shannon Morse, Peter and Meaghan Farragher. He was the brother of Patricia “Cookie” Poliseno of W. Bridgewater and the late John and Daniel Donovan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his former wife Gladys (Parmenter) Donovan of Easton.
Brendan was born in Brockton a son of the late Mary (Dermody) Donovan and had been a resident of Milton for over 20 years. He was a 1954 graduate of Brockton High School and while working at the Quincy Shipyard attended Northeastern University. In 1966 he received his degree in electrical/mechanical engineering. Brendan retired from Polaroid Corporation after over 20 years of service. He continued to work as a tax preparer with his son-in-law Gerald S. Derochea, CPA.
Brendan always put his family first. He enjoyed their summers in Falmouth, time on their boat, skiing and golf. He also enjoyed projects around his house, working in his yard and watching all the activities of his children and grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered as “The Supervisor” of the family.
