Geraldine H. (Laing) Sturge, 71, of Halifax, died peacefully on March 20th at home, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of 52 years to Calvin W. Sturge. She was born and brought up in North Quincy, daughter of the late James and Sarah (Newell) Laing. She was a graduate of North Quincy High School. Geraldine raised her family in Whitman for 24 years before moving to Halifax. She spent most of her time being a devoted loving mother to her sons and enjoyed exercising daily.
In addition to her husband of 52 years, she is survived by her 3 sons, Mark Sturge and his wife Jeannine, Wayne Sturge and his wife Erin, and Eric Sturge and his wife Debbie all of Halifax, her sister Janet Mortberg of Braintree; also her 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews,her very close friend Mary Turner of Rockland. She was also the sister of the late James Laing.
Her services will be held on Tuesday March 24th at 11:00AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be on Monday March 23rd from 4:00-8:00PM.Donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 1115 West Chestnut St. Brockton, MA. 02301
