Arlene F. Collins, 68, a resident of South Lawrence, MA. and a long time resident of Lowell, MA. passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Caritas Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.
Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of Donat and Helen (Beirne) Bergeron. She was an attendant of both St. Michael's School and Lowell High School. Arlene was employed for many years at the Tewksbury Drive-In Theatre. She then went on to work in the Mortgage Department at the Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union and most recently had worked with her husband at the William C. Collins Insurance Agency in Lowell.
Besides her husband William C. Collins, Arlene leaves two sons: Paul H. Provencher of Lawrence and Scott P. Provencher, a member of the United States Air Force stationed in Minot, North Dakota.
Arlene is also survived by three grandchildren as well as stepchildren: W. Neil Collins of Tewksbury, MA., Susan M. Olsen and her husband Everett "Bill" Olsen of Chelmsford, MA. who is Superintendent of Schools in Westford, MA., Kathleen M. McDonald and her husband Joseph, Stephen Collins and his wife Cheryl of Lowell, MA., Christine M. Lagasse and her husband Kevin of Lowell, MA., John Collins of Lowell, and Daniel Collins of Haverhill, MA. Arlene was also the step-mother of the late Maureen Collins, and she also had a special friend "Corky" her sheltie.
Friends and relatives are invited to a Funeral Mass which will be celebrated on Monday, March 23, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Augustine's Church in Andover, MA. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in East Chelmsford, MA. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
